Kashmir, India. Since the partition of British India in August 1947 which led to the independence of India and Pakistan, Kashmir remains a dispute territory between these two countries. Also China has own claims to some land but this side of the conflict looks rather calm recently. In the part controlled by India (Jammu & Kashmir state) majority of the population (which is Muslim) wants either independence or incorporation into Pakistan. Frequent rapes, murders and thousands of missed people (and especially recent cases) look like provocations which keep the riots remain. Local people blame Indian police or intelligence but it's not that obvious. However, there is no doubt that New Delhi is interested in killing the resistance of Kashmiri separatists.
